Alisha McKinney is a multidisciplinary artist and instructor based in Philadelphia. She attended the School of Visual Arts (SVA), where she experimented with different art techniques and began developing her voice as an artist.  After exploring painting and sculpture separately, she began to appreciate the beauty in combining them. Her work is characterized by natural elements such as flowers, birds, and clouds that create a dreamlike atmosphere. Through her art, Alisha invites viewers to acknowledge feelings of longing, hope, and anxiety that we all experience and trusts that others will find something relatable and comforting in it.

Alisha also creates wearable art through hand-painted upcycled clothes and bags. These pieces feature imagery similar to her other artwork, as well as artist-themed motifs for her "Make More Art" collection. 

In addition to her studio practice, Alisha works as a youth art instructor, where she is committed to creating a supportive space for young people to discover their own creativity. She hopes to remind others that art can make us feel a little less alone and allow each of us to express what we might otherwise struggle to find the words to say.
